Europe is always an interesting trip, this was the first time for Bob and I glimpse into ancient history first hand. Every day was something new and someplace unexplored by us...

Bob wrote a tongue and cheek "Trip Report" which many of you have read, it highlights each day of our adventure. I will post the entire report for anyone who missed reading it.

Bob and I went to San Diego and met some friends for a Chris Isaak concert this week. The weather was beautiful and the Marriott at the Marina had beautiful grounds and a spectacular view of Shelter Island, Sea Port Village and downtown!

2009 Cool Breeze Bike Ride in Ventura, CA

Phew, He made it!

Bob went on his first bike race, 2009 Cool Breeze Mini Metric in Venture, CA on Saturday, August 15, 2009. The course ran bike trails, Old Pacific Coast Highway and a few miles even on the 101 Freeway!

Total Distance: 40 miles

It is always a lovely when you take a drive around the lake!

We took a trip to Lake Tahoe the first week in August, Megan was able to join Bob and I for a short trip before she starts back teaching 6Th grade next week. We experienced a little of all the weather types, it was warm and beautiful when we started the week. By Wednesday it was very cool, some rain and wind with lots of Thunder Clouds blowing around. We weren't able to do a few of the things we had wanted but had a wonderful time just the same.

We took a four day trip up to one of our favorite places to relax, Monterey Beach in CA. The weather was beautiful and a relief from the heat we had at home.

We stayed at Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove. The Conference Grounds totals 107 acres which include the hotel area, beach, San Dunes, Historical Buildings, forests and Nature Trail. It was a little like going back to Summer Camp with the rooms having no frills...TV or Phones! We ate breakfast in a huge dining hall called Crocker Dining Hall built around 1913 by Architect, Julie Morgan. The building are done in classic Arts and Crafts style.
